Mobile subscribers’ personal data retention – The case of COSMOTE (OTE), Greece
Subscribers’ personal data is kept for as long as it is necessary to serve the purpose for which it was collected or in cases where the retention period is provided by applicable law, for the period provided by the law. Upon expiration of the retention period, the subscribers’ personal data is deleted in a way that it is not technically possible to be recovered or is anonymized. In particular:
After the expiration of the data retention period and their final deletion, the only information retained is the number of the subscriber’s fixed or mobile telephony connection in order to recognize any previous contractual relationship in case the subscriber wishes to return to COSMOTE’s network.
